Poor iPad experience

I think this app generally serves its purpose - but on the iPad version I get a prompt to download the updated app every single time I open it up, even though there are no updates in the App Store. The app wont even let me start browsing until I am first redirected to the App Store. Clearly, this makes me want to take my business elsewhere. Please fix so I can make this my first stop retail app again
